Bike paths on Lake Garda
An ambitious and beautiful project that promises to be already spectacular: it is the Garda by bike, the cycle path of Lake Garda (the most spectacular in Europe). A 190 km long cycle path that runs along the entire coast of Lake Garda crossing breathtaking landscapes, villages, promontories and points where it seems to be suspended over the water.
The peculiarity of Garda By Bike is in fact that the cycle path is partly built in mid-air, crossing three regions: Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto.
It will be completed in 2021 but a few kilometers of cycle path around Limone sul Garda and Malcesine are already finished and ready to be traveled by bicycle in all their spectacularity.
Garda By Bike
The entirely cycle path that surrounds Lake Garda will connect Capo Reamol to Limone sul Garda along the SS 45 bis Gardesana.
The route will pass along already active cycle paths, disused railway passages, old tunnels and areas to be built from scratch, crossing Sirmione, Lonato del Garda, Gargnano, Tignale.
The track will be connected to the VenTo and the Ciclovia del Sole, crossing EuroVelo 7, the great cycle path of Europe central. The track will be 2.5 meters wide and will also have a section dedicated to pedestrians.
Bike path in Limone del Garda
The stretch of cycle path approximately two kilometers long that reaches the border with neighboring Trentino from the Panorama Hotel in Limone sul Garda is already open to the public.
This stretch represents a unique and extraordinary work that allows you to travel, either by bicycle or on foot, a stretch overlooking the lake, enjoying a breathtaking view suspended between the lake and the sky. The track was in fact built in an elevated position with respect to the lake, hooked to the walls of the mountain. The metal structure overhanging the lake runs parallel to the State Road 45 bis, is two and a half meters wide and is illuminated with a LED lighting system.
