The most natural thing for those who reach this fabulous place is to see the scenery that can be enjoyed from different points of the plateau. Especially from the famous Terrazza del Brivido, the panorama is exhilarating, allowing you to see the cliff below, the coastal road and, in the distance, Monte Baldo in its shades of atmosphere and colors between sky and water.
The exaggerated height stems from the fact that Tremosine is on top of a cliff carved by an old 400-meter high glacier.
Places to visit around Tremosine
If you want to move towards the mountains, you can head towards Val di Bondo to the Nota Pass, the Vesio di Tremosine mountain reserve. As you cross the ridge, you'll come across places that are reminiscent of World War I, with a trench, a war cemetery and a bell. The Val di Bondo, carved by the river that takes its name from the Celtic “Bunda” or basin, always dates back to the time of the glaciations. Today the plain turns into a small lake in heavy rain - if you can admire Lake Bondo. If earlier the water flowed abundantly from the mountain slopes, now this phenomenon is much rarer, but in some seasons it is worth trying...
Another place not far from Tremosine, starting in the city of Polzone, is the Hermitage of San Michele. It is in an isolated position and in an almost fortified building, like an often-found hermitage, surrounded by the Gardesana forest - the largest forest in Lombardy - on the border with Trentino and the Ledro Valley.
