Gardaland, the amusement park of Lake Garda

Gardaland is the largest and most famous amusement park in Italy. It is located in the municipality of Castelnuovo del Garda, in the province of Verona, on the shores of Lake Garda, with the Alps in the background.

Gardaland was inaugurated in 1975 and has come a long way since then, becoming the most visited theme park in Italy. The park is divided into thematic areas, has around 40 attractions, including 5 roller coasters that will take your breath away!

Gardaland is also one of the leading entertainment centers in Europe. It is the eighth most visited park in Europe, with about 3 million visitors in the last year. The many attractions of the park and the various shows allow a journey through time through ancient Egypt, medieval England or pirate ships.

Like all amusement parks, Gardaland also has a mascot, its name is Prezzemolo.

Gardaland 2022 opening and new attractions

Gardaland is a modern amusement park, which keeps up with the times and which is always looking for new stimuli to guarantee the public a truly unforgettable experience.
This year, the Lake Garda amusement park will reopen to the public on March 12, allowing all its guests to inaugurate spring by spending carefree weekends full of fun and conviviality.
Starting from 12 March and during the following two weekends (12-13, 19-20 and 26-27 March), 25 attractions will be available in Gardaland, including the adrenaline-pumping Mammut, Escape from Atlantis, Raptor and Oblivion.

When it reopens, regular visitors will be able to embrace the attractions they know again and those who have never visited the park can have fun discovering them.
For both, however, there will be some news in this 2022: during the winter break, as always, the park reserves the right to restore, embellish and improve the visitor experience, also adding new attractions.
The News of Gardaland 2022 will be Jumanji: The Adventure, which will be inaugurated from April 2nd.
It is the first attraction in the Jumanji themed world and is a major investment of 20 million euros. It will be a unique attraction in the world, both in terms of scenography and technology.

Visitors can also have fun trying the LEGOLAND® Water Park Gardaland, the first LEGOLAND® Water Park in Europe inaugurated last year and attracting millions of visitors at the Park during the 2021 season.

The use of the App QODA already used last year to manage queues at attractions will also be confirmed. With regard to spacing and sanitization, this made it possible to avoid any contagion within the structure during the past season.

What you need and what to know before going to Gardaland

After having spent the winter break, surely the desire to return to have fun in the amusement parks will be considerable, so, given the COVID emergency and the regulations, it is important to know a few things, before leaving for the Gardaland amusement park:

1) Enhanced Green Pass for guests over 12 years of age together with valid ID

Starting from 10 January, in order to access Gardaland Resort (Park, Hotel, Aquarium), Guests aged 12 and over are required to present the ENHANCED Green Pass to the reception staff, in digital or paper format (obtainable with vaccination or recovery).
Children under 12 are exempt from checks and can enter without the Green Pass. The exemption is also extended to exempt subjects on the basis of appropriate medical certification issued according to the criteria defined in a circular from the Ministry of Health.
Guests must also present a valid identity document. In the absence of such documentation, access to Gardaland Resort will not be allowed.

2) Booking of the visit for Gardaland Park
(Valid only for Gardaland Park)

To ensure compliance with safety distances, the entrances to the Park are limited and it is mandatory to book for free the day at Gardaland Park.

That's when you need to book your visit:

Case 1) If you already have an open date ticket or Esselunga or Season Tickets / Gardaland Club you will have to book your visit for free by choosing the date from the calendar.

Case 2) If you have purchased a Gardaland Park ticket with a fixed date, a Gardaland + Sea Life ticket or a Gardaland + Legoland WaterPark ticket, it will not be necessary to book the visit.

3) Use the App "Qoda" to access some attractions, shows and restaurants

To avoid crowds and limit your stay in line, you will need to book your shift for some attractions, shows and refreshment points using the Qoda App and associate your ticket or season ticket to it.

4) Obligation to wear a mask and observation of the rules of the anti COVID-19 protocol

It is mandatory to wear a mask during the entire stay and to undergo a temperature measurement before entering.
It is also mandatory to respect the social distance of at least 1 meter in all areas of the Resort, in all access rows to the Park, attractions and services. Correct social distancing will be guaranteed on attractions, in entertainment areas and in bars, restaurants and shops.

Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium

Near the Amusement Park of Gardaland, there is the Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium, the Gardaland aquarium inaugurated in 2008.
Inside the Gardaland Sea Life there are more than 40 tanks with over 5,000 specimens of 100 different species. The Gardaland Aquarium has been divided into various thematic areas with species from all over the world, from the nearby Lake Garda to the distant ocean depths.
Of extraordinary beauty and exciting experience is the oceanic tunnel: a transparent tunnel that will allow you to immerse yourself in the midst of sharks, rays and other tropical species. Among other things, it is possible to witness the feeding of the sharks.
